Give back to the city you love. We make it easy.

You want to make an impact on your community. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to give. What is Royal Oak’s greatest need?

The Royal Oak Civic Foundation is the answer. We use money donated to the community benefit fund to give grants to city programs and departments to support special projects. The Royal Oak Civic Foundation supports the Royal Oak Animal Shelter, Commission for the Arts, Orson Starr House, Library, Parks & Recreation, Public Safety and Senior Center.

The Community Benefit Fund allows the Royal Oak Civic Foundation flexibility to give to the city’s greatest needs.

We funded two library projects, donating books to their vending machine in the Meijer at Woodward Corners grocery and installing outdoor musical instruments with braille messaging on the library plaza.

This year, the Royal Oak Civic Foundation also provided lawn cleanup services for seniors in need, provided the Animal Shelter with mobile chip readers so police officers and animal control can immediately find owners of lost pets, and helped the Orson Starr House to celebrate its 100th birthday.

We also are able to donate to other organizations and projects, like Shop with a Hero in partnership with Meijer. The Civic Foundation donated gift cards to children of families in need, then our police, firefighters and local veterans take them shopping for presents they can give to others during the holidays.

No donation is too small! We assemble those donations into grants with a big impact. Small donations lead to big results!
