In August, guests of the Royal Oak Civic Foundation enjoyed a festive preview of the food, entertainment and art that would be offered at the Soaring Eagle Arts Beats and Eats festival. In October, the foundation benefited in another way, as one of more than 50 charities receiving contributions from the festival.
The festival offered members of the Royal Oak City Commission and the city’s Downtown Development Authority the opportunity to designate $1,000 to a local charity and four chose the civic foundation.
“We greatly value the relationship we’ve built with the festival and with Jon Witz and his foundation,” said foundation board chair Tom McGannon, “And we appreciate the city commissioners and DDA board members who thought of us.”
The Royal Oak Civic Foundation improves the city’s health, safety, and cultural opportunities by inspiring the philanthropy of residents and business leaders to support a thriving, resilient community.
