Minutes – Royal Oak Civic Foundation Board of Trustees Committee Meeting
September 10th, 3 p.m.
City Hall, Room 122, 203 S. Troy Street Royal Oak, MI 48067
Tom McGannon called the meeting to order at 3:00pm. Trustees present: Eric Lofquist, Alex Fike, David Guest, Jennifer Banovetz-Bastian, Howard Collens, Chris Bower, Thomas McGannon. Staff present: Jill Martin. Trustees present constituted a quorum. Guests present: Sgt Spangler (ROPD), Tammy Shinkoski (Meijer).
Motion to accept the agenda was moved by Lofquist, seconded Fike. Approved unanimously.
Motion to approve the consent agenda by Guest, seconded by Fike. Approved unanimously.
Dec. 18 proposed for Shop with a Hero. 6pm start with 3 waves of children at 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 pm. Arrivals at 5:15, Group photo at 5:30 pm. $6,000 from ROCF to match Meijer $6,000. Jill to bring pizza. Tammy to work with Jill to pre-order gift cards.
Motion to approve $6,000 for Shop with a Hero by Fike, Second by Guest. Approved unanimously.
Motion to approve additional $250 for pizza. Moved by Fike, Seconded by Collens. Unanimously approved.
Motion to move forward with 2026 AB&E on 5th, partner with John Witz, 30k net fundraising goal. Banovetz-Bastian moved, Collens seconded. Approved unanimously.
Will review draft report to the Member at October meeting.
Motion to adjourn by Collens, seconded by Lofquist, approved unanimously.
